Middlebourne Landmark Gone But Not Forgotten:
The loss of the Middlebourne Baptist Church Parsonage, marks an end to an era. Built in 1901 and heavily damaged by an electrical fire on March 26, 2014, it was deemed a total loss and was demolished the first week of August. This parsonage had not only stood over 100 years, it has held within its walls the numerous pastors and families for the church. It was even used as home for a church family while the husband/father was serving in our military. As the phrase goes, “If walls could talk”…the walls of this home would no doubt speak of the many prayers, concerns, and praises of the church’s congregation and the community, the phone calls at all hours from someone needing the pastor, for prayer or guidance, the calls needing him to come to someone’s side in their suffering. It could tell of laughter by children that lived there and even the tears for the heartaches. And above all, it would tell of the Spirit of God abiding there in the hearts of those pastors and their families.
There are several that will remember that wonderful home and all it stood for, and will tuck those memories away in their heart and face tomorrow with a smile and a peace, knowing God is in control and will provide! We trust God will guide us as we move on and we look forward to all He has planned for us.
We thank everyone that has supported our church and our pastor in any way. God knows who you are. And we welcome everyone to come worship with us! Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and Worship Service at 10:45 a.m.; then Wednesday Bible Study at 7 p.m.
