The Tyler County Shrine Club and the Nemesis Shrine, together with Sistersville General Hospital hosted their annual Shriners’ screening clinic Saturday, May 5.

The clinic provides the opportunity for children to be screened to qualify for free care in the Shriners’ Hospital system. Children from 0-18 years are screened for orthopedic problems, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft palate and lip. Eligible children receive all care and services regardless of the patients’ ability to pay.

Sistersville General Hospital is honored to be one of the few West Virginia hospitals asked to participate. There is truly no better joy than to see children receive life changing medical care that will allow them to grow into adulthood and have the opportunity to live out their dreams.

The generosity of donors is what enables Shriners to deliver this life-changing medical care without placing burden on the families of the patients. There are many ways to give, from participating in one of the many Shriners fundraising events, to creating a plan of giving. No matter how large or small, every gift to Shriners makes a difference in the life of a child.
