From Lisa Fox
This Thursday, Oct. 20, at 6:30pm, will be the very first Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Abuse.
I am sad that I will be out of town and not able to attend, but I encourage the community to come out and support this event.
What a powerful witness it will be to see the community speak up about this silent crime. I have read that one out of three women are victims of abuse, and so are their children. I know in my own life, I have witnessed a close family member suffer from this violence.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and raising awareness for anything can be challenging, but together it can be done.
I would like to thank Toni Vancamp and Jonay Corley for their passion in this cause.
The candlelight vigil will be from 6:30-9:30 p.m at the Veteran’s Park in Sistersville.
Please, be in prayer and may your heart be moved to embrace this cause, male or female, and come out tomorrow evening.
With love and peace,
