Dear Editor,

First of all, ”Knights Radio, WRSG” is grateful for the following summer knights, who will be invited to help with DAILY remotes beginning next week at the 48th Tyler County Fair: Brandon “Cannon” Collins, Dan “The Man” Grimm, Tyler “DQ” Blizzard, Julian “JuJu” Work and Leann Cochran. Their hard work and professionalism is making WRSG radio better daily.

Secondly, our station finds itself much in need of a new automation system, one which is currently an industry standard and is used by our ‘mentor’ stations in St. Marys, New Martinsville and Williamstown. As we train what will hopefully be future radio station employees, whether full-time or part-time, we owe it to them to practice on such a system. To that end, we are in an emergency drive which, as of this writing, has earned at least $930 toward the $3,000 needed for new software and computers. We wish to thank the following for spearheading this effort: Mr. Tim Aiken and Union Bank, which donated $500; Kevin and Jill Wagner with their $200 donation; Valley Tire with $150; Tyler Feed and Grain and The Wells Inn.

As with last spring’s radiothon for the TCHS Choir, we are asking our loyal listeners to donate one dollar each. If our growing listener base would do this, we would have enough monies to meet our emergency need. We want to insure that Christmas music will run when needed, that syndicated programs don’t knock us off the air, that all of our regular formats, especially ‘oldies’ and bluegrass run as scheduled for as long as they are to play. Our present system is proving itself to be inadequate to meet these needs, which will grow as the station acquires new and diverse programming.

Please look inside your heart to help us in our time of need. We’ve gotten off to a great start in a short time period, but MUCH remains to be done. THANK YOU in advance for anytime you may do to help us. We always want you to be PROUD of YOUR radio station-“Knights Radio, WRSG”!

Sincerely,

Greg Goodfellow

WRSG RADIO Station Manager
