Tippins gets donations

By Staff | Nov 18, 2009

Dear Editor,

I want to thank everyone who donated money for the WW II Memorial Fund. The two benches have been paid in full and will be placed at the Tyler County Court House in Middlebourne. The dedication is set for Sun., Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Court House. If the weather is bad, the dedication will be inside the Court House. Everyone is welcome. The service will include several WW II Veterans.

This service will honor all WW II Veterans. It is time to honor the men and women who fought to preserve all of our freedoms that we all enjoy today. Everyone is invited to come out and show their support and their gratitude to these Veterans. Most of the Veterans of WW II are in their late 80’s and early 90’s.

Come out and pay your respect to the Greatest Generation. These WW II Veterans still attend funerals for all Veterans from all wars, rain or shine…Now is the time for our Community to honor them by filling the streets of Middlebourne for a great tribute to our WW II Veterans.

I would like to thank the following people who have donated. James and Connie Myers, John Wright, Jo Anne Jung, AM Vets Department of WV, St. Mary’s, WV Custom Auto Name Tags (R.D.J.), Ralph Hartor, Sistersville Elks Club. Thanks again to everyone who has made this WW II Memorial possible.

Bob Tippins
