Rice says Fitness Camp was a success
Dear Editor:
Sistersville general Hospital held their annual “Fitness Camp” June 15-19. A total of 41 children ages 4 through 10 attended. SGH owes a debt of gratitude to several individuals who, because of their efforts, made the camp a success.
Mayor Dave Fox, thank you for promoting the camp in your weekly column. Your words of encouragement and positive comments allowed us to recruit children of all ages. The highlight of the week was the ferry ride you arranged for the campers. They were thrilled. What a great treat that was for them!
Vance Ash, SGH can’t thank you enough for your efforts in securing the pool and lifeguards. The children would start asking almost immediately each day, “When are we going swimming?” Please accept our deepest appreciation for arranging the use of the James Willison center for the rain days. We don’t know what we would have done without your constant support.
Mike Neff and Ernie Yost, we thank you for transporting drinks and supplying all the little extras that we needed.
Fitness Camp could not take place without counselors. SGH was fortunate to have Katrina Byers, Melody Reed, Megan Thorn, Trent Tuttle, Sara Nething, Hunter Wells, Nick Shepherd, Kiley Evans, Terri Leek and Alaina McCoy volunteer as counselors. Charlene Galluzzo, physical education specialist was camp coordinator.
Julie Bolin, C.C, Nutrition Outreach Instructor from the Tyler County WVU Extension Service, you made learning to eat healthy fun! Please accept our deepest gratitude for spending the week with us and sharing your gift.
Jonay Corley, thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to cover fitness camp. You are appreciated!
To each and everyone who played a part in Fitness Camp 2009, a million thanks! When you surround yourself with good people. great things happen.
Gratefully yours,
Diana Rice
