Dear Editor:

May 4-8 was ‘Staff Appreciation” week at Sistersville Elementary SChool. During this week the principal, secretary, teachers, aides, cooks, custodians, foster grandparents and bus drivers received gifts, won door prizes and had breakfast and lunch provided each day. Also, the staff had themes: they got to wear sleepers to work, wear jeans, dress from the decade they were born, dress as their favorite book character and ‘Freaky Friday”.

The staff also received singing telegrams; thank you Kelly Jackson for singing and thank you Brittany Weekley for the lyrics.

I want to thanks the Staff Appreciation Committee: Heather Weekley, Sabrina Kyle, Kelly Jackson, Debbie Wayne, Angie Weekly, Marchel Martin, Meredith Kocher, Miranda Huffman, Kelly Grimm, Diane Palmer, Liza Gorby, Tammy Baker, Tracey Bell and Martha Bantug, for desserts, salads, gifts and breakfast.

I know times are tough right now, but our local businesses and individuals made the week a huge success. As a community, we need to return the favor by supporting our businesses.

I would like to thank the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, HPS Pharmacy, Style Center, Fox’s Elite Gymnastics and Dance, Sistersville IGA. Precision, Backyard Auto, Appreciation Committee, Myrtle Fisher and Sistersville General Hospital for the great lunches each day.
