Focus On The Positives
We wholeheartedly agree with Susan Stoneking’s main topic of her column this week. If you haven’t read it, check it out on this page. We applaud Ms. Stoneking for setting the record straight for the gentlemen who seemed to think Friendly wasn’t so friendly.
Frankly, however, we seem to think the record could be set straight for so many more, in regards to so many different communities. You see, it seems like sometimes all of us can get wrapped up in the negative news.
Yes, the drug abuse epidemic severely affects the area in which we live. Reports of crime regularly grace the headlines. This is, unfortunately reality.
Yet, we don’t have to let this reality define us. Our communities still possess good people and good neighbors, who come together to help one another, cheer on their hometown teams, and celebrate the victories of our promising youth.
Yes, there is negativity. However, we like to think the good very much outweighs the bad. Let’s focus on the positive, and let the good heart of our community define us.
