Road Bond Issue Has Pros and Cons
There has been much conversation recently about economic development, such as the Marcellus Shale and the opportunities it provides. Due to the oil and gas manufacturing increase in the state, there have been more funds for schools, as well as businesses, through the trickle down process. With the upcoming road bond vote, to be held October 7, it is important that we look at all of the potential ramifications. Road improvements offer the opportunity to increase economic development, which our state desperately needs, and allow us to compete with surrounding states. But increased development means increased traffic, which can become a nuisance for many. Several people seem to be on the fence about the bond, or maybe don’t understand what it means. We encourage everyone to research the issue, and come to your own conclusions, and get out and vote!
