Editorial (Boggs Strong)
For months our local area has been connected with the Boggs family and Matt’s battle with cancer. Matt’s battle ended this morning, shortly before our paper went to press. Matt’s sister, Meggan, had been fairly open with the details of Matt’s illness and the way the family has pulled together. Meggan had reported to us that the family hoped, by sharing its story, to inspire others to value family and time. The family should not have any doubt that they did just that. Whether we knew the family on a personal level or not, each and every one of us somehow longed to stay connected to the story, to help somehow. We came together as a community. We prayed until the last moment, for a sudden miracle. Now we pray for peace and comfort for the family. And we also hope the family realizes just how big of an impact Matt had on each and every one of us.
Small daily disappointments no longer seem that big of a deal. Family comes first. It is important to let our loved ones know how much they mean to us. Being Boggs Strong can get us through anything.
