The Ash family, of Alma, has certainly seen their highs and lows lately. Not long after Jim received a lifetime achievement award from the West Virginia FFA, his wife Thelma passed away this Saturday. Both of those events are chronicled in one issue, this week’s, of the Tyler Star News.

Both are noteworthy because the couple has worked tirelessly serving Tyler County, and even beyond its borders. Their work and generosity has not gone unnoticed. Indeed, they have made a lasting mark in this world that will live beyond them.

Thelma’s loss will certainly be felt by the family and the extended family of the community. But the end result, in memories and in the life Jim continues, is happiness-the product of a life well lived, according to Eleanor Roosevelt.
