The Tyler County Planning Commission and other organizations have been working hard to plan for the county’s upcoming bicentennial. In fact, they’ve even held several public meetings to generate interest and ideas for a year that will celebrate our past, enlighten our present, and look forward to our future.

The Tyler Star News wants to be right there every step of the way, capturing this rare occasion and all it offers in our ever-expanding archives. So, like the Planning Commission, we’re also willing to listen to your ideas. Each week in 2014, we would like to publish something relating to Tyler County’s rich history.
