Our doors are open

By Staff | Feb 20, 2013

For over 100 years the Tyler Star News has been a proud recorder of county history, and during that time it has gained a faithful following of residents, former residents and even non-residents who simply appreciate the richness of our area.

We wouldn’t be here without you, and we would like to show our gratitude by keeping the events of Tyler County our main focus. Keep in mind that we’re a small staff and our attention is often divided; we can’t be everywhere at once, and we’re not omniscient. Story leads and upcoming events are welcome knowledge from the public.

In order to better serve our community, we are always open to suggestions. That does not mean we are able to take requests or print everything that comes our way, but we are sure happy to listen.

We are particularly interested in receiving photos of Tyler County with accurate descriptions and also discovering the great stories of residents near and far who are accomplishing great things. As stated before, we cannot print or cover it all, but we will do our best. Any pictures sent to us can also be returned when we are done with them.

And as always, in Look Who’s Reading the Star News!, we like to feature pictures of our readers enjoying the paper in unusual places. Vacation season is sneaking up on us, so don’t forget to grab a few copies of the paper before heading to whatever exotic destination you’ve picked.

Our office is located on 720 Wells Street, Sistersville, W.Va. Please print any information you send to us legibly and include a phone number, in case we have questions, as well as a return address. Of course you can also submit items via email at editor@tylerstarnews.com.

So what are you waiting for? Become a part of our paper. Become a part of local history. Become a part of the Tyler Star News.
