‘Spring Cleaning’ has begun

Spring has sprung! And with is comes warm weather, longer days. . .and spring cleaning.

The Tyler County Solid Waste Authority has scheduled an electronics recycling collection event to be held at the Tyler County Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 14. All residents, non-profits, and small businesses are welcome to drop off any broken or unwanted electronic equipment at this event. No business is too small or too large – and residential customers welcome!

Disposal is done is strict accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations. There is no charge for loading equipment. TCSWA will provide Gaylord boxes and pallets if needed.

The products accepted include laptop computers, desktop computers, CRT monitors, LCD monitors, hard drives, modems, plugs and play devices, printers, scanners, copiers, commercial telephone equipment, fax machines, power backups, power transformers, miscellaneous electronic business equipment, wire, cables, circuit boards, video game systems, VCRs, DVD players, miscellaneous home entertainment equipment, microwave ovens, small electronic household equipment, most industrial scrap, most commercial equipment, office furniture (metal).

The event is free to the public, and there is no item limit.

Once your done cleaning up the house, extend your cleaning frenzy to the outdoors, too. Adopt a highway, adopt a spot, participate in the Ohio River Sweep, or go out to Conway Lake and pick up trash along the bank. (See page 10 of the Tyler Star News for more information on these programs.)
