Celebrating as a community
Years ago, when the park was new and people had a strong sense of community, Sistersville’s City Park was filled to capacity with people from all corners of Tyler County (nearly 10,000 people according to the Sunday News-Register dated July 5, 1959).
Sparked by the need to come together, neighbors flocked to the riverfront to enjoy carnival style rides, games, food, swimming and fireworks.
Although the festival in current history is a scaled down version of its predecessor, our need for community remains the same.
This weekend, as plans are set in motion, make time to come together with your neighbors, friends and family at the Sistersville City Park. There will be fun, food, games and plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Fireworks will start around 9:30 p.m.
