We offer our sincerest condolences to the family of Bob Kelly, and also to his colleagues.

He was a wordsmith, a poet, a story-teller. He was a newspaper man, born into his father’s shoes. Self-effacing of his own work, encouraging to others in their endeavors – he was the best of the best.

He was known for being respectful, accurate and trustworthy. To those who knew him best, he was a special friend, a valued associate, an excellent writer and an ‘idea man’.

Words cannot express our sadness, nor can they take away the pain of grief felt in the wake of his passing.

Though he is gone from this earth, he will not be forgotten for the legacy of a newspaper man survives in his writing and in the writing of those he touched, mentored, and nurtured throughout his life. In this way, he is immortal.
