Help Light Up the Night
With many communities cutting costs, Sistersville is unique in the fact that we still have a grand fireworks display to celebrate.
The Sistersville Community Service Organization is only half way to the annual cost of $6,500 needed for the grant fireworks display at this year’s Picnic in the Park celebration slated for Sunday, July 11.
This is the 14th year that the members of the Sistersville Community Service Organization have undertaken the task of raising funds for a patriotic fireworks display. Thanks to the wonderful people and businesses of Sistersville, all of Tyler County, and the surrounding areas, for making this event an annual tradition and one in which all of us can be proud.
Contributions to the fund drive can be sent to the S.C.S.O. Fireworks Fund, PO Box 46, Sistersville, WV 26175, or can be made at the Tyler Star News Office located at 727 Wells Street in Sistersville.
The organization believes that the event is an ideal time for everyone to come out and celebrate our nation’s birth, honor our area veterans and to enjoy one another’s company.
Members of the S.C.S.O. are also encouraging any area business or individuals to participate in the celebration. It would be a great opportunity to have a food, game, sales or crafts booth.
