This weekend the Tigers of Sistersville High School will come out of the woodwork to show their pride in a school that is no more.

Clad in the orange and black of yesterday, they will parade through the streets of Sistersville as if they never left.

It may be said that the “striped ones” hold the key to a secret we may never understand – for they know that the spirit of the Tiger does not reside in the empty space that once housed their education. They know that school spirit is not made of bricks and mortar; it’s made of precious memories and lives on in the hearts of the alumni who gather in Sistersville year after year to celebrate the past and look to the future.

To the SHS classes of yesterday: Welcome home.

To the Tyler Consolidated Class of 2010: Congratulations. May you look to the ones who have come before and embrace the spirit of your school, as they have embraced their’s.
