Pictures are perfect
Last week we printed the fact that lack of submissions is the reason that no Corner from the Past and Look Who’s Reading photographs appear in this newspaper on a regular basis.
This week, though none appear again, we did receive one submission for the Corner of the Past section but it was received to late to add.
We welcome submissions to both of these sections of the newspaper and encourage our readers to submit them. Unlike larger newspapers that serve metropolitan areas, newspapers that serve smaller communities, such as ours, have the leniency to run features and articles which interest our own populations. These two reader involved features perfectly fit these guidelines.
Always a popular feature, the Corner from the Past allows all of us to peek back into the pages of history and take a look at local landmarks when they were new and the talk of the town; ancestors at work or play in places that are familiar to us; and a complete different time in America.
The Look Who’s Reading feature showcases our readers as they travel the planet, taking us along for the ride. We here at the Tyler Star News feel privileged that you have cared enough to take us along with you. We’ve received photos from as far away as New Zealand, Iraq, Japan . . . as well as here in the Continental United States, and look forward to your next submission.
These submissions can be mailed to Tyler Star News, P. O. Box 191, Sistersville, W.Va. 26175; or emailed to editor@tylerstarnews.com.
