Braving The Blue Cold

By Staff | Jan 6, 2010

Anyone who has ventured outside lately has certainly noticed the sharp bite of ‘Jack Frost’ nipping at their nose, with temperatures well below freezing.

In fact, according to meteorologists, nearly the entire eastern half of the United States is enduring bitterly cold temperatures not experienced since the mid-1980s.

Even Florida has seen its share of cold weather this winter, with temperatures hovering around freezing levels overnight. With reports like this, it seems no one will be able to fly south to escape the cold weather this year.

…And there’s no end in sight!

No, not since the winter of 2002-03 have temperatures been this low – with that winter being benchmark for frigid conditions in the past decade -though the blue cold temperatures were not as widespread as those we are experiencing.

With most of the east coast in the throes of an arctic snap, this winter is shaping up to be one of the coldest winter in many people’s memories.

So, stock up on hot chocolate, snuggle up underneath the covers and stay warm this winter. And, if you have to venture out in the cold, please be safe on the roads.
