To Hunt or Not To Hunt…

In most counties in West Virginia, it is illegal to hunt on Sunday – even on private land. Though most hunters view this law as unnecessary, some people agree and are fighting to keep the sanctity of “the Lord’s Day”.
As of Nov. 10, 2005, Sunday hunting is prohibited in 41 counties. Ironically, one of the 14 counties allowing hunting on Sunday is our neighbor to the north – Wetzel. But hunters may only hunt on private land.
In the future, counties may elect to change the ruling on Sunday hunting if referendums are placed on the ballot. Perhaps Tyler County will push for a change.
