Patsy Jean Baker Fletcher
Patsy Jean Baker
Fletcher, of Middlebourne, WV, age 78,
passed away at home
on March 5, 2026.
She was a loving
mother, grandmother,
mother-in-law, aunt,
cousin, and friend. She
will be deeply missed
by many. Patsy was
the third child of Etta
Lena Hamilton Baker
and Fred Conway Baker.
Patsy graduated
from Tyler County
High School in 1966,
as the class valedictorian. After graduation she went to work
at PPG. On May 27,
1967, Patsy married
Robert LeMoyne
Lee Fletcher, II and
they made their home
in Middlebourne, WV.
Lee and Patsy had two
children, Robert
LeMoyne Fletcher, III
and Nancy Hart

Fletcher Kester. Most
of Patsy’s life revolved
around her children
and her love for her
family.
In the fall of 1979,
Patsy started driving a
bus for Tyler County
schools. In 1987, she
became the secretary at
Ellsworth Middle
School. Later in 1993,
she became the receptionist at Tyler Consolidated Middle/High
School. When the receptionist position was
dissolved in 2000,
Patsy went to work at
Arthur I. Boreman Elementary School as
their secretary until her
retirement in 2014.
During her 35 years of
service, Patsy influenced and touched the
lives of countless students, staff members,
parents, and the many
other individuals she
encountered. She truly
led a life of service,
dedicating her time
and talents.
Patsy was one of the
most well-rounded individuals you would
ever meet. Growing up
on a farm in Bearsville, WV she learned
how to garden, butcher, sew, and cook. She
had a wide range of interests and was eager
to master them all. She
made most of her
children’s clothing as
they were growing and
even made her
daughter’s prom dress
and wedding gown,
and yet Patsy had a
bigger garage and
more tools than anyone around, and she
knew how to use every
tool she owned! But at
the same time, Patsy
liked nice things, and
you couldn’t find a
more proper or refined
lady than Patsy Jean
Fletcher.
Patsy is preceded in
death by both of her
parents, her infant sibling, her brother
Donald Baker, and
husband, Lee Fletcher.
She is survived by her
children LeMoyne
(Stephanie) Fletcher of
Frederick, MD and
Nancy (Michael) Kester of Middlebourne,
WV. Patsy adored her
two grandsons, George
Chapman Kester of
Williamstown, WV
and Robert LeMoyne
Fletcher, IV of Frederick, MD. Patsy is also
survived by two dear
young men who
helped her with many
of her projects and became part of her family, Russell Evans of
Morgantown, WV and
Jordan Schultz of
Moundsville, WV.
Patsy is leaving behind
a recently rekindled
high school relationship with Jim Thomas
of Middlebourne, WV
who brought her much
joy in her last few
years.
Visitation will be
Monday, March 9,
2026, at Myers Funeral Home in Sistersville, WV, from 4:00
PM to 7:00 PM. At
Patsy’s request, she
will be laid to rest at
Blaine Memorial in
Cottageville, WV, near
her husband Lee,
where a private service
will be held for the
family. Pastor Don
Thomas will officiate.
If you knew Patsy,
you would know she
always had beautiful
flowers at her home
and in her workplace.
Instead of sending
flowers, Patsy would
want you to plant a
flower this spring and
think of her, or grow
something in your garden and remember
how much she enjoyed
being outside, working
in her garden.
