Mary P. West

Mar 4, 2026

Mary P. West, 86, of Paden City, WV, peacefully passed away at home on February 9, 2026.

Mary was born in Paden City, WV, on May 23, 1939, the daughter of the late Marion “John” and Geraldine “Jo” (Bollinger) Gallagher.

Mary was a retired caretaker from the Colin-Anderson Center. She loved to garden, with her flower beds being her pride and joy. She thoroughly enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in various sporting events. You could always find her cheering loudly from the sidelines of a swim meet, cheerleading competition, soccer field, baseball diamond, basketball court, track, or football field. Wherever her family was, she was never far behind.

Mary was also a co-founder of girls youth softball in Paden City, WV, and took great pride in helping create opportunities for young girls in her community. She was a longtime member of the American Legion and had a deep love for Paden City and Paden City High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill West; brothers, Charles Gallagher, Gary Gallagher, and Bill Gallagher; infant daughter, Alice Marie; and lifelong friend, Joyce Henderson.

Mary is survived by her brother, Richard (Elaine) Gallagher of Berkeley Springs, WV; daughters, Faith (Mike) Bayes of Owasso, OK, Kim (Scott) Easton of Wilmington, NC, and Jennifer (Steve “Snoopy” Troyer) West of Sistersville, WV; grandchildren, Stephanie (Trevor Link) West of Louisville, KY, Taylor (Keith) Hardbarger of Sistersville, WV, Dalton (Jessica Moore) Parsons of Sistersville, WV, Emily (Clay) Tylka of Huntsville, AL, Ryan Easton and Christopher Easton, both of Wilmington, NC, and Will (Addison) Bayes of Tulsa, OK; and great-grandchildren, Kaylynne, Dalton Jr., Tristin, Lyla, Alice, Olive, Miles, and Leah.

At Mary’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Reaching Out Foundation (www.reachingoutfoundation.org) to support those with Cystic Fibrosis, or to The Arc Mid-Ohio Valley for the West Virginia Birth to Three Early Intervention Program, 1971 Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
