Robert Francis Edward Leasure

Robert Francis Edward Leasure, 72, of Alma, WV went on his final hunt on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 while at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born October 27, 1953, in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Robert and Wilma (Bogers) Leasure.

He was a retired coal miner with twenty-six years of service with Consolidated Coal Mine in Powhattan and retired custodian with Tyler County Schools. Bob was a founding member and president of the NWTF Middle Island Long Beards Chapter for twenty-five years. A Hunter Education instructor for Tyler County, Wetzel County and Monroe County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising flowers, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Steelers fan. Over his lifetime he took several people on their first time hunt. He liked fishing for big Musky. Bob was quite the cook – specializing in grilling and BBQ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons, Robbie Leasure and Chad Leasure and two brothers, Tom Leasure and Joe Leasure.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-four years, Debbie (Moore) Leasure; two children, Bridget (Justin) Lowers of Washington, WV and Zac Leasure of Parkersburg, WV; nine grandchildren, Mack Leasure, Skyler Leasure, Riley (Megan) Leasure, Gracie Lowers, Parker Leasure, Caitie Lowers, Benjamin Leasure, Rowyn Leasure and Arabella Leasure; five great grandchildren, Rhett Leasure, Camryn Leasure, Colt Leasure, Rebecca Hudson and Landon McKinney; five siblings, Linda Sydenstricker of Pritchard, WV, Brenda Collins of Ohio, Samuel Leasure of Paden City, WV, Ann (Roger) Wells of Moundsville, WV, J. “John” (Chrissey) Leasure of Tiltonsville, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received noon p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the Furbee Williams Funeral Home, 217 Main St., Middlebourne, WV with family friend Steve Seago officiating.
