Wanda Jean Tennant

Wanda Jean Tennant, 77 of Middlebourne, WV peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 while at Pine View Nursing.

Wanda was born October 25, 1947, in Alma, WV daughter of the late Carl C. and Nora (Wells) Weekley.

She was a retired cook for Tyler County Schools. Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking to bring pleasure to others. Wanda’s cooking was so good the Tyler County Speedway named a concession stand after her – Wanda’s Pitt Stop. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Tennant; daughter, Patricia Ann Tennant; siblings, Keith Weekley, Cleston Weekley, James Weekley, Walter Weekley, Clifford Weekley and Bernice Carol.

Surviving are her children, James “Jimmy” Tennant of Shirley and Martha (Chris) Hayes of Middlebourne, WV; grandchildren, George (Lindsay) Tennant, Conner Tennant, Cara Tennant, Skyler (Hope) Hayes, Peyton Hayes and Parker Hayes Pierson Hayes; great grandchildren, Carter Tennant, Campbell Tennant, Charlie Tennant and Bear Hayes; sister, Hilda (Richard) Culton of California and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Furbee Williams Funeral Home in Alma, WV where funeral will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025 with burial to follow in the Beechwood Cemetery in Alma, WV.
