William “Bill” Michael Baker
William “Bill” Michael Baker, 81, of Middlebourne, WV took the next step on his journey on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 while at his home and surrounded by his family.
Bill was born April 22, 1943, in Sistersville, WV son of the late Burl Marshall and Sadie Jane (Milburn) Baker.
He was a retired Maintenance Shift Foreman for Covestro with thirty-five years of service, a member of the Tyler County Farm Bureau, Cattleman’s Association Tyler County Calf Pool, helped with Tyler County FFA and 4-H clubs, past president of the Tyler County Fair Board, 1991 winner of the Conservation Farm. Bill served on the Middlebourne Cemetery board. He loved farming especially beef cattle, putting up hay and starting his morning off with a cup of “Joe”. He always drove a Ford vehicle and he was a member of the East Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Joann (Bill) Ingram and James Baker and sister-in-law, Linda Baker.
Surviving are his wife, of sixty years and it would have been sixty-one on Saturday, February 8, 2025, Janet (Gorrell) Baker; four children, Lisa (Jim) Jorden of Sarasota, FL, Mike Baker of Sistersville, WV, Teresa (Terry) Woodall of Nashville, TN and Bradley Baker of Middlebourne, WV; grandchildren, Taylor Jorden, Erin (Nick) King, Jared Jorden, Jennifer (Jason) Shivley, Ali (James) Smith and Aleah Baker; great grandchildren, James, Jocelynn, Lexi and Lani; brother, Donald Baker of Middlebourne, WV; sister-in-law, Nellie Baker of Middlebourne, WV; faithful canine, Ash and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 4-7 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Furbee Funeral Home, 217 Main St., Middlebourne where services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025 with Pastor Chuck Sapp officiating. Burial to follow in Middlebourne Cemetery.
