James Jim Phillips
James Jim Phillips, 89, of New Martinsville, WV, passed
away February 7,
2025 at WVU Ruby
Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Clifton Forge, VA, a son
of the late Lyle W.
Phillips and Louise
Sunderman Phillips.
Jim was a 1957 graduate of WVU School
of Pharmacy and was
the Owner and Pharmacist of Phillips
Pharmacy in Sistersville for 51 years. He
was a 50-year member
of the Masonic Lodge,
a member of the Tyler
County Shrine Motor
Patrol, a private pilot,
a certified scuba diver,
world traveler, jazz
aficionado, sports car
enthusiast, avid photographer, golfer with 4
holes-in-one. He was
also past President of
the Sistersville Lions
Club, Lifetime
Member of the Sistersville BPOE ELKS
#333, longtime board
member of Sistersville
General Hospital and
Past Director of First
Tyler and Union Bank.
He is survived by his
sons, J.B. (Lynn) Phillips of Vienna, WV
and Mike (Barb) Phillips of Bel Air, MD;
daughter, Jennifer
(Mark Workman) Phillips of Lost Creek,
WV; his loving companion, Camilla
Millie Sue Swartling; six grandchildren
and six
great- grandchildren
with two more on the
way.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded by a brother,
George Phillips and
granddaughter, Alli
Moody.
There will be a
memorial visitation at
Myers Funeral Home
on February 22, 2025
from 11:00 am until
time of funeral service
at noon with Pastor
Stephen Rector officiating.
