Denny M. Reed
Denny M. Reed, 79, of Paden City, WV formerly of Shiloh, Tyler County took the next step on his journey on Saturday, January 4, 2025 while at Wetzel County Hospital.
Denny was born August 29, 1945, in Akron, OH son of the late Denzel A. and Ruth (Matheny) Reed.
He was a retired electrician for Union Carbide with thirty-three years of service. Denny was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War in Okinawa, Japan. A graduate of Tyler County High School Class of 1963, a hunter but an avid fisherman who is currently landing a big one as you read this.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Delsey (Chuck) Corley, Phyllis (Walter) Brown and infant, Donna Reed.
Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Helen (Stevens) Reed; two children, James Reed of Paden City, WV and Melody (Edious Earl) Glasscock of New Martinsville, WV; eight siblings, Dolly (Ray) Reed of Connecticut, Richard Reed of Wheeling, WV, Carol Chauncey of Yulee, FL, Della Hamilton of Virginia, Summer Steadman of Florida, Julie Kennedy of Virginia, Todd (Clarissa) Johnson of Fairmont, WV and Howard Johnson of Moatsville, WV; six grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kacie, Trey, Phillip, Emersyn, Bre-Lynn and Bentley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Furbee Williams Funeral Home, 217 Main St., Middlebourne. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Hope Fellowship, Sellers Road, Middlebourne, WV 26149. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
