Hazelene E. Anderson

Hazelene E. Anderson, 91, of Spencer, WV passed away November 6, 2024 at her sister’s home in Friendly, WV.

She was born September 1, 1933 in Arnoldsburg, WV and was the daughter of the late E.V. and Sarah Kingsbury Anderson.

She was a graduate of Spencer High School Class of 1952, the University of Charleston where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, and attended WVU graduate classes. She was a Roane County teacher for 22 years, member of Roane County Retired School Association and president for 4 years, and member of several historical societies. Hazelene had also worked for the National Airily in Washington, DC for 3 years. She attended Spencer Tabernacle Church, and loved traveling, genealogy and painting.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her sister, Wilma Jean Monroe of Friendly, WV; half-brother, Royal Nelson of Centerville, WV; nieces and nephews, Vance (Brenda) Monroe of Middlebourne, WV; Patricia Wilson of Friendly, Gina Lamb of St. Mary’s, WV and Tammy (Chris) Lauff of Friendly; great-nieces and nephews, Maranda (Shawnray) Huffman, Mitch Mossor, Jennifer Wilson, and Craig (Linda) Monroe; and great-great nieces and nephews, Alexis (Austin) Ballard, Trenton Huffman, Urijah Mossor, Ryan Monroe and Rex Monroe.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. ~ Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Gibson Cemetery in Calhoun County, WV with Pastor Loren Price officiating.
