Aug 15 – A dinner fundraiser will be held for Tracy Price Goodrich at Mountain Meadows at Morris Farm located at 6408 Veterans Highway, New Martinsville on August 15, 2026. The dinner will include a homemade spaghetti dinner. Also basket raffles and 50/50 drawing will be available. The dinner will take place from 11:00 AM till 5:00 PM and the cost is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids. All Proceeds will go to support Tracy who was recently diagnosed with Liver Bile Duct Cancer and is facing a liver transplant in the future. Aug 29 – A Breast Cancer Benefit will be held for Shawna Richeson on Saturday, August 29 from 2:00 PM till 6:00 PM at the Sistersville American Legion Post 67. You can choose from spaghetti, garlic bread and salad for $10.00 or plain wings with choice of sauce fro $1.00 each. SUGABUZZ will perform from 8:00 PM till 11:00 PM. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50drawing. Shawna has stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma which is a the most common type of breast cancer. She had surgery on July 7 and will be undergoing radiation treatments. Please come and support Shawna in her battle. NOBODY FIGHTS ALONE!

Sept. 20 – The WV Oil & Gas Festival Bass Tournament will be held at the St Marys Marina located at 617 Riverside Dr St Marys, WV on September 20, 2026. Registration is at 5:15 AM with Blast Off at 7:00 AM. Weigh In is at 4:00 PM with a five fish limit. 50HP minimum with working livewells required. Cost for the tournament is $100/boat and includes Big Bass. Tournament highlights include; 80 percent payback of the number of boats, Champion Trophy, Runner-Up Trophy, Big Bass Trophy, raffles and a 50/50 will be available. The Paden City Public Library Summer Reading Program for 2026 titled “Unearth A Story” begins on June 5, 2026. The reading program will take place on Fridays at 12:00. Broken Timber Outdoor Education Center: Consider joining the not-for-profit Broken Timber Outdoor Education Center. Flags for Heroes 2023 Honor a military member, first responder, teacher or other hero (past or present) by sponsoring a flag in their name.
