CHARLESTON, W.VA. (5/14/26) – The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) invites the public to AVN Corp. Symphony Sunday on Sunday, June 7 from 2 – 10 p.m. on the University of Charleston lawn.
This long-time tradition on the lawn of the University of Charleston celebrates some of the community’s most beloved music from the main stage, Remington Development Corporation Food Court with vendors from the WV Symphony League, St. George’s Cathedral, Dunbar Lion’s Club, and Ellen’s Ice Cream, McKinley Carter Wealth Services Artisan Area, Vandalia Health CAMC Women’s & Children’s Hospital Craft Corner, and Moses Auto Group Family Fun Zone with activities for kids of all ages. The day caps off with a grand finale performance by the state’s premier orchestra and a fireworks display presented by FamilyCare Health Centers that illuminates the West Virginia Capitol.

We look forward to enjoying a day full of music, entertainment, a book nook, and local food,” said Steve Hedrick, Chairman & CEO, AVN Corporation. “Rain or shine, be there and bring your family and friends.”
This year’s theme is SOUSA! An American Celebration, which will showcase the music of John Philip Sousa and other patriotic marches and music as a nod to America’s 250th birthday in July.
A special VIP reception, sponsored by Steptoe & Johnson, PLLC will be held from 6 – 10 p.m. and gives guests exclusive access to watch the performances from atop UC’s rotunda and patio.
