MIDDLEBOURNE – The American Angus Association has two new local members in Tyler County.
Mark McCulley, CEO of American Angus Association, headquartered in St. Joseph, Missouri, announced on Feb. 3 that Allison Wince of Middlebourne is a new junior member of the association. And State Ridge Farm, located in Middlebourne, also is a new member of the association.
“Junior members of the association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in the association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events,” according to the association.
The association is the largest beef breed organization in the world. It has more than 21,000 junior and adult members across the United States, Canada and other countries.
“It’s home to an extensive breed registry that grows by more than 300,000 animals each year,” a press release from the group notes. “The association also provides programs and services to farmers, ranchers and others who rely on Angus to produce quality genetics for the beef industry and quality beef for consumers.”
