WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital recently donated infant warmers to Wetzel County Hospital and Barnesville Hospital.

In an effort of regular collaboration with its critical access hospitals and WVU Medicine’s Health Team Critical Care unit, regional hospitals can now use WVU Children’s Neonatal Transport services and together determine the best level of care for sick neonates.

Wheeling Hospital manages infants with the gestational age of 32 weeks and above, and can transport throughout the Northern Panhandle and into Ohio.

Keeping appropriate level care of neonates close to home, Wheeling is one of just four neonatal transport teams in the state.

Each hospital received intensive hands-on training for the warmers, and each warmer was stocked with neonatal resuscitation supplies.
