Mountaineer Mobile Food Bank Releases 2025 Tyler, Wetzel County Schedules

SISTERSVILLE – The Mountaineer Mobile Food Bank has released it Tyler and Wetzel County distribution schedules for 2025.
All distributions are held from 10-11:30 a.m. while supplies last.
In Tyler County, the first is slated for Jan. 30 at the First Baptist Church in Sistersville. The next is slated for March 27 at the Tyler County Senior Center in Middlebourne, where the third one is slated is for May 29.
Then on July 31 the fourth distribution is scheduled to take place at the First Baptist Church, Sistersville. The fifth distribution is planned for Sept. 25 at the Tyler County Senior Center in Middlebourne. And the sixth and final distribution for 2025 is slated to take place on Dec. 4 at the First Baptist Church in Sistersville.
The food bank held its final distribution of 2024 on Dec. 26.
In Wetzel County, St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 21 Rosary Road, New Martinsville, is set to host all of the distribution days on the following dates: Jan. 10; March 11; May 9; July 11; Sept. 12 and Nov. 14. Distribution times for all dates are also 10-11:30 a.m.
“Thank you to all of the volunteers, the generous donors that provided the food and the participants that came to today’s Mountaineer Food Bank,” Tyler County Family Resource Network said on its social media. “Whether you sorted, packed, loaded or simply greeted with a smile, your efforts made a real difference. You are the heart of the mission and we are so grateful for you.”
According to the food bank, “Mobile Pantries provide food to food deserts where food accessibility is limited, scarce or both. Fresh, healthy food tends to have a short shelf life. To make sure food gets to our clients as quickly and fresh as possible, they are transported to selected locations and distributed by Mountaineer Food Bank. Mobile Pantries can provide a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and baked goods to people in need.”
According to the bank, West Virginia has more than 266,000 people struggling with hungry and 73,650 of them are children.
