A Large Crowd Welcomes the Good Zoo

Most libraries offer a “Summer Reading Program” to encourage children of all ages (adults too!) to continue reading throughout the summer months.   While each library offers different programs and activities, Paden City Public Library usually hosts a variety of programs – one each week for about 6 weeks from June through July.

Children are encouraged to read as many books as possible with things like Book Bingo where, when completed they receive prizes.

On Friday June 10th Oglebay’s “Zoo to You” program visited the library. It is a great program for both kids and adults enjoy.

They have an experienced zoo worker, Dillon, bring a few animals to the library. This year in included a flat back turtle, a milk snake and a skunk so that folks can see and learn about new animals.  If the groups consist of less than 50 people, they allow participants to pet certain species too!

This year the Paden City Library are also hosting:  The YWCA, Magician Bill Stokes, Art/Science Fun Day, The SMART Center of Wheeling, PCVFD Fire Safety & Fire Truck, and the Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center.
