Good Old Days: Paden City Band

By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Oct 5, 2021

Do you remember the very first PCHS Band? Pictured here are members of the 1952 band, the first in history of Paden City High School, comprised of students from the classes of 1952 through 1957 (7th – 12th grade).

During this time, Paden City High School shared Band Director Robert Thomas with Magnolia High School. When a conflict in schedules existed, Paden City Principal Ray Berger very ably stepped in to command the band, and those students remember to this day Mr. Berger marching with them. A very dedicated principal indeed!!

Stop in and visit the Paden City Museum and Cultural Center to see the vast collection of artifacts, pictures and written materials depicting our town, its businesses, schools and its people on display there.

The Museum is located at 105 W. Main Street and is a project of the Paden City Foundation, Inc.

The good old days are here at the Paden City Museum on Thursdays from 1 – 3 PM, Fridays from 1 – 3 PM and Saturdays from 9 – 11 AM. See you there.
