The West Virginia Division of Highways advises beginning Tuesday, July 23, 2013 a lane closure will occur on WV State Route 18 between Milepost 19.3 and Milepost 19.6, located just north of Middlebourne at the Pleasantview Bridge construction project over Point Pleasant Creek.

This 1st phase of the ongoing bridge replacement work requires the closure of the northbound lane of WV Route 18 through the construction zone, and is expected to be completed by October 7, 2013. At that time, traffic will be shifted for the 2nd and final phase of the work.

The first closure will be accomplished with the placement of temporary concrete barriers along the centerline of the roadway and the installation of temporary traffic signals at each end of the closure. Motorists will be restricted to a single 10 foot wide traffice lane which will alternate between northbound & southbound traffic through the use of the temporary signals. During this WV 18 lane closure, CR 24 (Sellers Road) will also be closed and residents will be required to use Pleantview Lane for local access.

Motorists are advised to watch for changing traffic patterns and possible delays.
