Annual FFA sale held

It was time once again for the Ham and Bacon Sale. The 60th Annual Tyler County Ham, Bacon, Egg Show and Sale took place on Thursday evening March 11. With a full house, pre-bidding started at 6:30 p.m. and auction started at 7 p.m. Kelly Flesher won Grand Champion with her ham weighing in at 23.7 pounds. Long Reach Federal Credit Union was the buyer at$35 a pound. Sierra Eddy won Reserve Champion with her ham weighing in at 22.2 pounds. The buyer for her ham was Tyler County Speedway at $23 a pound.

The Grand Champion Bacon went to Marlee Weigle with her ham weighing in at 9.2 pounds. The buyer for the bacon was DAC at $91 a pound. Silas Archer had the Reserve Champion bacon weighing in at 7.7 pounds. Roger Weese was the buyer at $61 a pound.

The Grand Champion Eggs went to Nick Billiter with West Virginia Motor Speedway being the buyer. His eggs sold for $230. Dylan George brought home the Reserve Champion eggs. The buyer was Dr. Robert Christian for $330.

The Grand Champion Bread went to Julian Work and the buyer was Terry Hamilton for $330. Stephanie Wright won the Reserve Champion bread. Eric Vincent candidate running for Tyler County Commission was the buyer at $210.

The FFA Scholarship Ham which is sold by the item went to DAC. The Scholarship Bacon went to Debbie Frye who is running for County Clerk.
