City elections held March 25

The City of Sistersville city elections will be held on March 25. The office of Mayor, as well as council seats will be voted on by residents of the city.

Filing to run for the two year term of Mayor is one candidate, David B. Fox, the current Mayor.

All candidates are running unopposed. Council seats voted on include: Ward 1, two positions open, one two year and one four year term. Incumbent Richard K. Long has filed to run for the four year term with no one filing to run for the two year term.

Ward 2, William “Bill” Rice has filed to run for the four year term available.

Ward 3, one four year term is posted with incumbent Ann Doig filing for re-election.

Ward 4, Joleen Sidenstricker has filed for the only position up for the election.

Residents wishing to file as write-in candidates must file at the City Building before the deadline of March 4 at 3 p.m.

Early voting for this election will begin on March 5.

Polling places for the election on March 25 include: First ward – Sistersville Volunteer Fire Dept.; Second ward – Church of Christ Annex building; Ward three – Sistersville City Building; Fourth ward – Methodist Church.
