BOE plans new garage
All board members were present at the Tyler County Board of Education meeting held on Monday evening. The topic of the new bus garage project was the main topic discussed.
Tyler County Superintendent, Jeff Hoover stated to the other board members that communications with the county commission have been good and the project is moving right along.
“It’s gonna happen”, commented Hoover, “but it just takes time.”
Construction on the new bus garage is to begin in the spring or early summer and is expected to be completed in Oct. 2011.
Linda Hoover, President of Tyler County Board of Education, voiced her concerns about the light that is not working for the Boreman Elementary School sign.
Superintendent Hoover said that he has been in contact with Lisa Feildmeier, Principal of Boreman Elementary, and they are trying to faze it down.
The lights in front of the Boreman sign run off of a pole and not the school Hoover explained. The light runs off of a one ten converter and the converter keeps blowing. An electrician from one of the area plants came and looked at it and suggested putting up flood lights, but Feildmeier said she prefers to wait until the weather breaks.
Board member Jimmy Wyatt suggested hiring an electrician to fix it, but board members all agreed to wait until the weather breaks to have the light fixed.
The next regular meeting will be held on March 1 at 7 p.m. at the Tyler County Board of Education Office at Tyler Consolidated High School.
