Make That Change

By Staff | Dec 30, 2009

Now is the time to make resolutions for the coming year – the time to look at the man in the mirror and make a change.

Some of us will resolve to lose weight, get in shape or quit smoking or drinking. Others will attempt to spend more time with family and friends or enjoy life more. Regardless of what we decide, those of us who make a resolution will promise to make the necessary changes in our lives to make 2010 better than 2009.

But what if we made a resolution as a community to make Tyler County better in 2009? What would we change? Would be be more involved? Would we share our opinions and ideas openly and constructively? Would we come together to fight our common battles, instead of bickering and fighting amongst ourselves?

For those within the community who’s torches burn bright for positive change in this county, we encourage you to step out, speak out and strive to make a difference in the New Year.

As we stand on the brink of another year, we must take a moment to look back on the past 12 months and resolve to do our part to make our community a better place in 2010.

In the immortal words of the late Michael Jackson, “I’m starting with the man in the mirror. I’m asking him to change his ways. And no message could have been any clearer: If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.”

Where will you start?
