The Paden City Volunteer Fire Department sponsored the annual Fire Poster Contest for the students at Paden City Elementary. Students from grades kindergarten through 6th grade participated.

The winners are as follows:

Kindergarten: Mrs. Wade’s class – Katie Hood, Farrah Beasley, and Makenzie Dennis; Mrs. Wilson’s class – Talan Chambers, Bryson Stackpole, and Lyndie Arango. Overall Kindergartern winner, Kadie Hood.

1st Grade: Mrs. Weber’s class – Walker Hoover, Makenzie Thomas, and Elijah Wayt; Mrs. Allen’s class – Aaron Thorn, Breawna Henry, and Jaslyn Harn. Overall 1st Grade winner – Walker Hoover.

2nd Grade: Mrs. Melott’s class – Maya Belhadj, Alyssa Phillips, and Alec Chaplin; Mrs. Stanley’s class – Serenity Strother, Neveah Sweeney, and Jasup Spragg. Overall 2nd grade winner – Maya Belhadj.

3rd Grade Mr. Watson’s class – Maggi Still (also overall winner), Alyssa Rodriguez, and Issac Neff

4th Grade: Mrs. Amos’class -Cora Anderson, Kelci Lockhart, and Montogmery Kelly; Mrs. Mace’s class -Cameron Dennis, Hunter Lindsey, and Haleigh Lauderman. Overall 4th Grade winner, Cameron Dennis.

5th Grade: Mr. Ice’s class – Hannah Loy, Matthew Rexroad, and Delainey Lantz; Mrs. Slider’s class – Alli Suter, Kierra Daughtery and Jordan Stackpole. Overall 5th grade winner, Alli Suter

6th Grade: Ms. Nelson’s class – Jenna Arnett and Niko Glover; Mr. Kendle’s class – Katie Mars. Overall 6th grade winner, Jenna Arnett.

Students were also invited to an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 22. Students were invited to participate in fire prevention activities, snacks, and exploring the fire trucks. Thank you to the volunteers at the Fire Department for giving us these opportunities. A special thank you to Brittany Henry Darnell for organizing this event for the students at Paden City Elementary.
