Terry and Teresa Jackson of Middlebourne would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Sue Jackson, to Joseph Daniel Smith, son of Burl Smith and Bobby Doak.

Melissa is the granddaughter of Karen and Ernie Helmick, Carol and Allen Jackson, and the great-granddaughter of Rose Helmick and Mildred Shreve. Joseph is the grandson of Donna and Earl Smith and the late Billie Doak and Delbert Doak.

The couple will exchange vows Aug. 14 at the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Thomas officiating. The reception will follow at the Lewis Wetzel Center in New Martinsville.
