Buck to reign over festival

Tyler County native Linda Buck was crowned Queen Vera XV Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Pennsboro Country Roads Festival Pageant.
She will represent the festival this coming Jan. 8 and 9 at the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Convention in Charleston. Additional prizes include $1,000 Scholarship, Trophy, Sash, Pin, Flowers, Keepsake Tiara, Gift Basket and the official Tiara that is passed down to the new reigning queen each year.
Buck is a sophomore at Marshall University’s School of Nursing where she is a member of the Marshall Maniacs. She is the daughter of Doug and Barbie Buck of Sistersville.
The 30th Annual festival will be held Sept. 10,11,and 12 at Myles Stadium. Thursday offers childrens pageants and gospel groups. Friday includes Living History and the Davisson Brothers Band. Saturday features the parade at 11 a.m.
Other activities consist of the Bike and Car Show, Living History, Magic and Talent Show, Pennsboro Depot and Brad Stover, South of the River Band and Fire in the Hole featuring Dave Poling.
