First Female Bus Driver Turns 90

By Staff | Mar 19, 2009

A Surprise Open House will take place to honor the 90th birthday of Warrenetta Braniff on Sunday, March 22, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Paden City Volunteer Fire Department.

Braniff was Tyler County’s first female school bus driver, starting in 1953 and driving for 28 years. She later went on to be a school cook, retiring at the age of 62.

The family invites all friends and all former students who rode her bus to come and visit with Mrs. Braniff. The family requests that no gifts be brought and that the party is kept a secret.
