Lockhart wins crown

Kelci Lockhart and her Family traveled to Beckley, W.Va. for the Karnival of Kueties Mardi Gras Pageant, which was held on Feb. 22.
Of the several age divisions, Lockhart participated in the 5-7 year old division. Instead of formal wear the contestants wore Mardi Gras-themed outfits. Lockhart won Most Mardi Gras Spirited Award for her age division and received a medal.
During the crowing of her age division, she was told that she moved to the next level of judging and that she would need to come back on stage a little later. Upon returning to the stage, she was crowned the 2009 Karnival of Kueties Mardi Gras Mini Supreme. She took home a sash, 10 inch tiara, a trophy, and a $50 savings bond.
Lockhart is the daughter of Kurt and Kimberly Lockhart and Sister of Kyla Lockhart of New Martinsville, Granddaughter of the late Lawrence B. Goddard Jr. and Mary Goddard of New Martinsville, Granddaughter of Bill and Linda Lockhart of Deridder, La.. She is also the niece of Rex and Tracy Goddard of New Martinsville and Belinda Goodman of Pineville, La.
She attends first grade at New Martinsville School.
