Admission was $5, with every paid guest receiving several complimentary slices of pizza delivered from The Fort Restaurant. Throughout the evening, DJ Josh Rice kept the music playing, creating a lively atmosphere both in and around the pool. The fundraiser was sponsored by Peoples Bank.

DJ Josh Rice, who also is a member of the Sistersville Park and Pool Board, commented on the number of music requests he had throughout the evening. “I was amazed by the kids requesting all the classic songs. There was a group of boys who kept requesting David Bowie!” Pool managers shared having a DJ definitely elevated the fun and energy of the evening.

The beautiful summer weather added to the success of the Dine and Dance, too. The fundraiser served as the final late-night swim of the season, as many of the pool’s lifeguards and staff members will soon begin returning to fall sports, band, school activities, and college in the coming weeks.

The late-night swim capped off what has been one of the most successful seasons the Sistersville Pool has experienced in years. Attendance during June reached some of the highest levels seen in many seasons, reflecting strong community support, a successful “Kids First Pool Pass Campaign” and continued support in the city’s historic pool.

While attendance traditionally slows during July as families leave for vacations and summer schedules become busier, pool officials remain optimistic. The Sistersville Pool plans to remain open throughout Tyler County Fair week, although operating hours will depend on attendance. Daily admission is just $4, and several Kids Days sponsored by local organizations are also planned during the week, allowing children to enjoy free admission on designated days.
