The Nightingale Tribute Honor Guard has formed a new local chapter of nurses from the WV Alumni of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing, WVNCC, WVU, Belmont Tech and WLSC.

This tribute group is a ceremony used during funeral services to honor any nurse for their commitment and dedication to their patients and profession.

The ceremony includes lighting of the candle, summary of the nurse’s career, a tribute reading, presentation of roses and a bell ringing.

Anyone can ask for this service by calling the Association Coordinator @ 304.771.6913 or by asking the funeral director.

This tribute is worldwide, named after Florence Nightingale, founder of modern nursing.
