A deserving and accomplished Tyler Consolidated senior, Ms. Kathryn “Katie” Grimm is this year’s recipient of the Roy C, Heinlein scholarship. Katie comes from a long line of SHS graduates which include her parents Craig Grimm, SHS Class of 1988 and Christine Shreves Orr, SHS Class of 1990, her grandparents William H. Shreves, Class of 1963, Connie Hissom Shreves, Class of 1967 and Dan Grimm, Class of 1952 and numerous aunts and uncles.

She is recognized for her outstanding achievements, dedication, and character. She has demonstrated exceptional commitment both academically and within the community.

Throughout her academic journey, she earned numerous accolades and consistently maintained high standards of excellence. Beyond the classroom, her involvement in extracurricular activities and service initiatives reflects a well-rounded and driven individual with a bright future ahead.

Katie exemplifies excellence in every sense of the word. As the Valedictorian of Tyler Consolidated High School’s Class of 2026, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication to her academic pursuits, maintaining an exceptional GPA while completing honors, Advanced Placement, and dual credit courses. Her commitment to learning places her consistently among the top students of her class.

Beyond the classroom, Katie is a proven leader and role model. She has served as Student Body Vice President, National Honor Society Vice President, and an active member of numerous academic and service organizations. Her leadership extends to athletics, where she has been a standout multi-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track–earning All-State and All-Conference honors and serving as a team captain.

Katie’s commitment to service is equally inspiring. From participating in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to dedicating countless hours to local youth programs, she has shown a genuine passion for helping others and making a difference in her community.

This fall, Katie will attend Arcadia University, where she plans to major in Biology and pursue her goal of becoming a Physician’s Assistant. Her determination, resilience, and compassion–shaped in part by overcoming personal challenges–set her apart as a truly deserving recipient.

The SHS Alumni Association proudly recognizes her hard work and determination and is confident that she will continue to achieve great success in her future endeavors.

Congratulations to this well-deserving recipient as she takes the next step toward an incredibly bright future!
