‘Risen, Indeed’ Draws Overflow Crowds at First Baptist Church of Sistersville

Powerful performances and a moving message filled the sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Sistersville as the passion play “Risen, Indeed” was presented on March 27 and March 28.

The production offered an unforgettable portrayal of the life, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, leaving a lasting impression on those in attendance.

With standing-room-only crowds and an outpouring of community support, the event quickly became a highlight of the Easter season in Sistersville.

Attendees praised the production for its beautiful vocal solos and the outstanding acting talent drawn from the local community. From dramatic scenes depicting Christ’s final days to the triumphant message of resurrection, the play resonated deeply with audiences of all ages.

Pastor Darrell Mayfield expressed heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals and groups who helped bring the vision to life. “This production was truly a community effort,” he said, extending special thanks to Paden City Nazarene Church for lending costumes, as well as to Danielle and Joel Davis for their assistance and makeup expertise.

Appreciation was also given to the AB Women for providing refreshments and to the entire cast and crew for their dedication.

From costume preparation and set design to technical execution and countless hours of rehearsal, Pastor Darrell emphasized that every detail reflected the commitment and passion of those involved.

With overflow crowds and enthusiastic feedback, “Risen, Indeed” not only showcased local talent but also brought the community together in a shared experience of faith as many families were preparing for Holy Week. Those in attendance that this reporter spoke with said the event was one that will not soon be forgotten.
